Tango Studio is an operating system, It's not an application you will install on Windows, but another operating system you can install instead or in dualboot with your actual system. Tango Studio is a GNU/Linux distribution, but don't be afraid by the "Linux" word, no need to be a geek to use it, Just have to get out some of your habits Tango Studio is optimized for music (CAM), Computer-Aided Music. All apps needed to make music are available : séquencers, synths, samplers, partitions editors, recorders, audio editors.... Tango Studio is open-source. You can use for free Tango Studio and apps included, but you'll have to know that it's a big work to do, then it's possible to give a help; contributing or donating ! thanks (we always need some devs) Before installingAs all specific use, C.A.M needs you to connect some "non full support" stuff on operating system GNU/linux, like Tango studio. Don't forget to save your data before running installation! Creating installation mediumDownload the .iso imageTango Studio is available for 32 and 64 bits arch. .iso are downloadable here down this page. If you don't know which to choose, download the i386 one, the amd 64 version allows max performances , even the i386 offers PAE version (allows more than 3.2 Go RAM) automatically. Verify iso ImageBefore burning the iso on your DVD, we recommend to control it's integrity with the MD5 checksum. This controls that all is in the box. How to do is here. Md5sum of Tango Studio iso are available on the download page. Burn on a DVD or create a bootable usb diskBurn DVD from Windows : here, to do with DVD-ROM but no CD-ROM. Instead of a DVD, maybe you prefer use an usb disk, You can re-use it aftre for another application. Be carefull! All computers don't boot on usb then you might have to set your BIOS to activate usb boot. Creating an usb live disk with the downloaded ISO: here Tests and installationBoot from DVD or USBInsert the DVD in the player or plug the usb key. Turn off the computer. Turn on again, a screen like that appears: If this screen doesn't appear you got to enter your bios to set usb higher in the boot sequence. Testing the live sessionhere you are on the tangostudio desktop Only english language is available on the live session, but you can choose language to install. This session doesn' modify you computer contents, take a time (really important) to test your hardwarel (soundcard) and start some apps to discover TangoStudio. InstallerBefore installing make sure you saved your data on external stuff! All you choose here can be changed later. First choose the language.

Partitionning correctly the hard drive :
You can choose to install Tango Studio side to side your old operating system. At the boot, we'll have choice . Be carefull : some computers are commercially hardware locked (bios lock or Mbr lock) installing a new OS can bug the old, More info on tatouages and how to solve it here (in french). Just wait the end of install, half of an hour. Don't forget to remove the disk before reboot. Complete installYour system is ready ! Start making UPDATES. For that go to System -> Administration -> Synaptic. clic on the Recharger button and Update all. More infos on the synaptic's page from Ubuntu documentation or here for packages administration (very important, cause we don't install softs on TangoStudio as on Windows. You will certainly need some privates drivers, under specific licences, that are not addable by default. it's about codecs, flash and JAVA. hox tyo do here (in french). if you need some graphical or video apps , there are some méta-packages installing what you need. tangostudio-graphic and tangostudio-video.
